It was long overdue and we are sorry, but here it is a brand new FM website.
Make sure to look around and buy some of our goods too!
We have added some new (old) Pics, MP3s, and Videos too...
ALL THIS AND MORONS, the album that has been out of print a very long time, is now available again re-released as MORONS.
It is for the most part the same album minus the 7" tracks which will make their way onto a new CD very soon.
Be sure to grab a copy of MORONS before these are gone as well..
More releases on the way...
As we have previously mentioned we have been recording new material, in fact we recorded a full albums worth of stuff...
We need to finish up some lyrics (argh) and then we can get it wrapped up and see if anyone digs it..
Also under way is another CD with all our misc Comp tracks and the 7" eps and probably some live junk as well.

I figure it would be nice to let everyone know what the heck we are up to lately..
We are working on new material, because believe it or not I want to
play some new songs next time we play a show instead of the same ones I
have played for 11 years...
Jaimy says we need 13 for a new record. I say ok.
We now have 11 so we are close...
As far as recording goes, we may 'demo' it here in my studio, but I
would like to have a real decent recording for once so we may go
somewhere to record them if we can get anyone interested in putting it
out..
Of course 11 songs and still 9 need words, that may take a few years...
I may post a sample or 2 on MySpace soon so you can see what they are like..

Throughout the history of Ferd Mert we have not asked for, or been offered many "big name" shows.
Even more rare is the times when we turn down shows that could be pretty good.
The other day was the exception to these cases.
We were asked to play an 18 show with THE EXPLOITED.......
We simply are not punk enough for that kind of crowd.
Other news:
New songs are coming along, we have at least 8 down pat (no words of course)
Maybe I will post a rough version of something soon..

Ahh yes Duluth...
It has been awhile since our last visit to Duluth and it was nice to see that some things never change...
As we approach Duluth we are greeted by rain and heavy winds, then pass through that and are met by thick ass fog.
Visibility was about a car length so needless to say there was no sightseeing. We couldn't even see Lake Superior, which is pretty hard to miss...!
We roll into Superior and find Strikers where we are to play and it is mid 40s and misting... (did I mention this was to be an outside show) Thankfully there was a backup plan to play inside although mini golf would have been sweet. We hung out for awhile then decided to just drive home.
Fog was worse then earlier we were barely able to see past the hood... Luckily it cleared as we got away from Duluth and we made it back to St. Paul at 4am Here are some pics:

Thanks to everyone who came out to our 'return' show... It was a good time indeed.
It is definately good to get to play live again and we look forward to many more shows in the near future. Heres a few images from the show...

After getting upset that Billy and I refused his request for extended bass solos in more than 2 songs... Jaimy flipped out and smashed the "monolith of doom"
Sources heard him saying "those guys" are the lightweights and that he pounded "this thing" like a jackhammer.
Obviously he was upset and didn't mean what he said.
After a cooling off session with our therapist jaimy rebuilt the pyramid.
More important news here... as it happens.

So the shows are lining up nicely.
By the looks of it we should kick off our "return" with at least 4 shows in June.
It's always tough to get back into setting up shows after taking a break, but it is nice to see that people still remember who FM is. You rock.
Remember it all starts June 6th downtown St. Paul at Station 4 and it is a free show if you use these tickets.
I am excited and certain it will be a good time since Jaimy, Billy and I are having a swell time playing together again.

June will mark the return of FM with no less than 5 shows.

So we have been collecting our mountain dew cans from practice... For no particular reason othen than being too lazy to carry them upstairs to the CRUSHER...
Now we have a pretty swell pyramid thing going on but my concern is when do the bugs come in and take over the studio?!
I suppose we will wait to clear them out until we have 115 lbs like the last time I took cans in...
Just thought I would share that important info..

JAIMY and BILLY RETURN TO FERD MERT!
Thats right... FM is back!
February 1st marked the 1st time this lineup has played together since Jaimy and Billys original departure from FM in July of 98..
We have been hacking our way through near 50 of the old tunes and working on new stuff as well. We hope to put some of the newer stuff down on tape and put out an EP to get the word out there again. Website updated, and will continue to change as things get rolling around here again. Check out the MP3s and Pics and if you have a good internet connection watch some of our old show Videos, now online! Clearance sale... All old shirt designs are only $7 to make way for new designs.. Stay tuned for more news as it happens!
